Rock and Prairie Home Decor Gift

We have good friends that are getting married this summer here in Alberta. I met the soon to be bride through the soon to be groom and we hit it off as friends from the very beginning. In fact, she is a creative soul kinda like myself, and I got her into stamping, paper crafting, card making... all of it!

This past weekend was her bridal shower and leading up to the celebration I wasn't quite sure what I was going to get her.  Recently, she started up her own business and called it "Rock & Prairie"... because her fiancĂ©e is from Newfoundland (the rock) and she was born and raised here in Alberta (the prairies).  Currently, they live on an acreage here in Alberta and every day they look out their kitchen window at the neighbors' horses.

I wanted to make something special for her that both of them would appreciate. So, I looked through my stash of stamps and decided to make a picture frame that was based around "Rock and Prairie".  This is a 12x12 page with a placeholder for their favorite picture from their wedding day.  To make it extra special I stamped a label, using the Make a Difference stamp set, with the date of their wedding day.

The sentiment is from the Barn Door stamp set. I thought that it was appropriate for a bridal / wedding gift.

I wanted an embellishment to tie everything together so I took the crumb cake natures twine and delicately laid it around the oval images. I added an anchor embellishment up near the lighthouse and twisted the twine to look like a lasso by the horses. I used glue dots to keep the twine in place where I wanted it. I absolutely LOVE how this turned out!

Last weekend was her bridal shower and I was finally able to give her the gift.  As soon as she opened it tears came to her eyes.  At that moment, I knew it was the perfect gift.  I know that she will treasure this for years to come.  Stamping and papercrafting is so much more than just making a card, its making something special that is meaningful and from the heart.

Thank you for stopping by!
