Swap Card for OnStage

Today I am showcasing the cards that I made to swap at OnStage in Vancouver. I used the Piece of Cake bundle (stamp set and cake builder punch). I brought 20 of each design with me and loved every single card I received in return.

Left Card:
  • Card base is flirty flamingo, cut at 8 1/2 x 4 1/4 and scored at 5 1/2
  • First layer is balmy blue cut at 4" x 5 1/4". I stamped the candle image repeatedly along the left side and the Happy Birthday sentiment repeatedly in the lower right corner using pacific point ink.
  • I stamped the cake image, colored it using the Stampin Blends (flirty flamingo and balmy blue), punched it out, punched the cake stand, punched a black starburt and attached everything together using dimensionals.
  • I cut two strips of ribbon, attaching them to the backside of the black star burst and added a twine from the silver and white bakers twine to the front of the cake stand. I then attached this whole embellishment to the front of the card, as shown, using dimensionals.

Right Card:
  • Card base is night of navy, cut at 8 1/2 x 4 1/4 and scored at 5 1/2
  • First layer is sahara sand cut at 4" x 5 1/4". I stamped the candle image repeatedly along the left side and the Happy Birthday sentiment repeatedly in the lower right corner using night of navy and calypso coral ink.
  • I stamped the cake image, colored it using the Stampin Blends (calypso coral and balmy blue), punched it out, punched the cake stand, punched a black starburst and attached everything together using dimensionals.
  • I then attached this whole embellishment to the front of the card, as shown, using dimensionals, and added a few sequins as I was going for a more masculine version with this card.

OnStage 2019 Vancouver

Hi Everyone!
Sorry it has been a while since I last posted. I have been busy with a bathroom renovation which is now complete and I am so happy to be back in my studio creating beautiful things! A couple of weeks ago my girlfriend and I, along with a bunch of ladies from our team here in Calgary, traveled to Vancouver, BC for OnStage 2019.  This was my girlfriend's first experience with OnStage and she absolutely loved it. Well, come on, we both had a blast!  What's not to like about getting the new annual catalogue in hand, swapping with other like minded creative souls, playing with new product, prize patrols, and seeing such wonderful presentations! It was a full day of complete FUN!  Here are some of my pictures...

We arrived in Vancouver on Friday afternoon and was excited to see this backdrop as well as the check in tables in the lobby of the hotel.

Friday evening we went for a seafood dinner. Being an Alberta girl, how could I not take advantage of fresh seafood off the west coast of Canada!  This restaurant is right on the water and the food is amazing!  I had been here about 9 years ago with my boyfriend at the time (now husband) and had the mussels.  To my excitement, they still had them on the menu and they were just as good as I remembered. Good thing we had to walk back to the hotel because we were stuffed.

Saturday morning, we were up and downstairs lined up to register at 7:30 in the morning!

New catalog in hand!

My girlfriend and I hanging out and having fun swapping beautiful projects with everyone!
Below are the make-and-takes that we made...

Group photo of the team we are a part of, from Calgary!  I am proud to be a part of Rose Coleman's team, the Ink-Cited Canadians!  Such a great group of ladies. There were 12 of us that traveled from Calgary.

Rose, our team leader is so sweet. She made each of us this cute purse out of the Full Wide Stamp Case and included some treats inside. How thoughtful is that!

What a great weekend. Looking forward to the next one!
