The Everything is Rosy product medley (only available in May) is such a beautiful collection of papers, stamps, die cuts, ribbon, and shimmer paint all with a touch of rose gold. With a couple of weddings coming up this summer I knew I had to create a pretty card using these products. This is what I came up with.
Card Base: whisper white cardstock
First Layer: night of navy with a piece of the Everything is Rosy DSP layered ontop and very vanilla ribbon trimmed with copper wrapped around and tied.
Second Layer: Stamped the bride from the Wonderful Moments stamp set on an oval stitched die cut, colored it in with blends, brushed wink of stella on the dress, sponged the oval with blushing bride ink, and adhered to the large scallop oval die cut. Added three pearls as the bride's hair piece. Adhered to the card front with dimensionals.
Third Layer: Stamped the two flowers from the Everything is Rosy medley using melon mambo ink, die cut, and adhered using dimensionals. Stamped "for the bride", from Wonderful Moments, using night of navy ink on one of the labels included in the Everything is Rosy medley and adhered using dimensionals.
TIP: After cutting the 6x6 piece of dsp for the front of this card, I had enough left over to dress up the flap of the envelope, and very little waste!

Rock and Prairie Home Decor Gift
We have good friends that are getting married this summer here in Alberta. I met the soon to be bride through the soon to be groom and we hit it off as friends from the very beginning. In fact, she is a creative soul kinda like myself, and I got her into stamping, paper crafting, card making... all of it!
This past weekend was her bridal shower and leading up to the celebration I wasn't quite sure what I was going to get her. Recently, she started up her own business and called it "Rock & Prairie"... because her fiancée is from Newfoundland (the rock) and she was born and raised here in Alberta (the prairies). Currently, they live on an acreage here in Alberta and every day they look out their kitchen window at the neighbors' horses.
I wanted to make something special for her that both of them would appreciate. So, I looked through my stash of stamps and decided to make a picture frame that was based around "Rock and Prairie". This is a 12x12 page with a placeholder for their favorite picture from their wedding day. To make it extra special I stamped a label, using the Make a Difference stamp set, with the date of their wedding day.

The sentiment is from the Barn Door stamp set. I thought that it was appropriate for a bridal / wedding gift.
I wanted an embellishment to tie everything together so I took the crumb cake natures twine and delicately laid it around the oval images. I added an anchor embellishment up near the lighthouse and twisted the twine to look like a lasso by the horses. I used glue dots to keep the twine in place where I wanted it. I absolutely LOVE how this turned out!
Last weekend was her bridal shower and I was finally able to give her the gift. As soon as she opened it tears came to her eyes. At that moment, I knew it was the perfect gift. I know that she will treasure this for years to come. Stamping and papercrafting is so much more than just making a card, its making something special that is meaningful and from the heart.

2019-2021 In Colors
The new in-colors are all amazing but my favorite, hands down, is pretty peacock. I wanted to make a selection of cards that really showcased the new colors so I grabbed this gorgeous rose image from the April 2019 paper pumpkin kit. I cannot express how much I love this stamp! It is beautiful on its own and doesn't really require much more embellishment on a card.
However, I couldn't help myself. I wanted to give it a 3D look by stamping the rose two additional times on a piece of scrap white cardstock. I fussy cut both roses out but the smaller portions of the flower. I then added wink of stella to the two pieces, layered them using dimensionals, and added a faceted gold gem to the center.

Here are all of the new in colors!
Terracotta Tile, Pretty Peacock, Rococo Rose, Seaside Spray and Purple Posy
I just know that I'm going to be using these colors all of the time.

Colourful Seasons
I am so happy that the Colourful Seasons stamp set and coordinating die cuts are carrying over into the new annual catalogue. This is a great 'all seasons' set for both card making and scrapbooking. The possibilities are endless with this one.
Here in central and southern Alberta we got hammered with a huge snow storm this past weekend and more snow in the forecast. We are ready for spring and summer to get here! So, I went to my happy place last night and created my own spring cards to remind me that its just around the corner.
I love the floral images in this set; especially the coordinating individual flowers with die cuts to cut them out. They remind me of the flower blossoms on the trees when they are in full bloom during the spring. I wanted to keep the stamping for these cards simple so I stuck to two colors: early espresso and blushing bride.

Its hard to tell but I added wink of stella to the flowers that are raised on dimensionals. I love the added pop that the raised flowers give to the cards. I also like adding a little pearl to the center of these flowers.
To help the flowers stand out even more, before I adhered them to the card I placed them in the palm of my left hand and pressed a finger from my right hand in the center of the flower to give them a bit of a curled up look.

CASE a Card - Watercolor Drip & Piece of Cake
In the stamping community there are a couple of different terms for the acronym "CASE". It can mean 'copy and selectively edit' or 'copy and share everything'. Typically, when I CASE a Card I copy and selectively edit, however in this instance I am flat out copying the card and sharing it because I love everything about it!
One day I was flipping through my Facebook feed when Kelly Acheson's video appeared because someone shared it. I fell in love with the colors, layers, sparkle, and the technique that she used - called "watercolor drip".
After watching her video I ran to my studio and immediately started to play with the technique and reproduce the card. This is my version, but please check out Kelly's video (link above)!

Amazing Life Watercolor Wash
I am so sad that this stamp set is retiring at the end of May. I can never have enough birthday sets and I love that this set has some great fonts and large greetings. It contains such beautiful detailed images and great sentiments for both the outside and inside of a card. This is a set that I will definitely be keeping on my shelf. Don't miss out, contact me to order yours today!
Watercolor Wash Technique
- Cut a piece of watercolor paper.
- Using an aqua painter brush, squeeze and brush water all over the watercolor paper.
- Place a drop of bermuda bay reinker on an acrylic block and add a couple drops of water.
- Place a drop of pool party reinker on another acrylic block and add a couple drops of water.
- Pick up the bermuda bay ink with the aqua painter brush and paint it diagonally across the top portion of the wet watercolor paper.
- Pick up the pool party ink with the aqua painter brush and paint it diagonally across the bottom portion of the wet watercolor paper, blending it up into the bermuda bay side.
- Allow to dry.
Once the paper was completely dry I stamped the greeting using versamark ink and heat embossed with black embossing powder. I stamped the dot images in bermuda bay and the corner images using memento ink. Then I tied the black/silver ribbon around the bottom and added the black embellishments from the faceted dots embellishments (which are also retiring).
Here is another one, loving the colors! I used pacific point and pear pizzaz on this one.
I LOVE how these cards turned out!

Rooted in Nature Sympathy
Sympathy cards are never easy to make and when you need one you need it right away. I like using elements from nature for these types of cards and that is exactly what I did here. This card came together quite quickly once I decided what to do.
- Card base: pear pizazz
- First layer: I cut a piece of whisper white to 4" x 5 1/4" and stamped the leaf image horizontally across the center of the card, rotating the image, in pear pizazz and garden green. I then ran this through the subtle embossing folder to provide a little texture.
- I stamped the wood slice image and sentiment using early espresso and hand cut them as seen in the photo. I cut the heart from the wood grain dsp using the Be Mine Stitched heart die cuts.
- The sentiment and heart were attached to the wood slice using dimensionals.
- I then punched three sets of leaves, from vellum, using the leaf punch and attached as shown. I love how the vellum softens the card.

Swap Card for OnStage
Today I am showcasing the cards that I made to swap at OnStage in Vancouver. I used the Piece of Cake bundle (stamp set and cake builder punch). I brought 20 of each design with me and loved every single card I received in return.
Left Card:
Right Card:
Left Card:
- Card base is flirty flamingo, cut at 8 1/2 x 4 1/4 and scored at 5 1/2
- First layer is balmy blue cut at 4" x 5 1/4". I stamped the candle image repeatedly along the left side and the Happy Birthday sentiment repeatedly in the lower right corner using pacific point ink.
- I stamped the cake image, colored it using the Stampin Blends (flirty flamingo and balmy blue), punched it out, punched the cake stand, punched a black starburt and attached everything together using dimensionals.
- I cut two strips of ribbon, attaching them to the backside of the black star burst and added a twine from the silver and white bakers twine to the front of the cake stand. I then attached this whole embellishment to the front of the card, as shown, using dimensionals.
Right Card:
- Card base is night of navy, cut at 8 1/2 x 4 1/4 and scored at 5 1/2
- First layer is sahara sand cut at 4" x 5 1/4". I stamped the candle image repeatedly along the left side and the Happy Birthday sentiment repeatedly in the lower right corner using night of navy and calypso coral ink.
- I stamped the cake image, colored it using the Stampin Blends (calypso coral and balmy blue), punched it out, punched the cake stand, punched a black starburst and attached everything together using dimensionals.
- I then attached this whole embellishment to the front of the card, as shown, using dimensionals, and added a few sequins as I was going for a more masculine version with this card.

Lift Me Up
Today I am showcasing the Lift Me Up bundle retiring at the end of May. This is a bundle that will be staying on my shelf for years to come as it is very versatile. I love the details in the balloons and the clouds, both in the stamps and the coordinating die cuts. This is a bundle that I reach for when I need a birthday card, congratulations, thank you, valentines, love you, a pick-me-up card or its great for whatever else you need it to be! I also love that it can be feminine, masculine, for kids, and for adults. Its truly a great all occasion set.

Fabulous Flamingo
Today I am showcasing a stamp set that is retiring at the end of May. I love that this set is a 3-step stamp set.
Left Card: I used the set as designed; stamping the outline of the flamingo and then stamping the inside layers using flirty flamingo ink.
Right Card: I stamped the leaf frame on one layer of cardstock using granny apple green and old olive. I stamped the outline of the flamingo on another piece of cardstock and then colored it in using the Stampin Blends, specifically calypso coral. The sprig of grass was stamped using garden green. The water was stamped in pool party and then shaded in using the light pool party Stampin Blend marker. The greeting comes from another stamp set and is stamped on a piece of watercolor paper that was watercolor washed with pacific point and a touch of bermuda bay.

OnStage 2019 Vancouver
Hi Everyone!
Sorry it has been a while since I last posted. I have been busy with a bathroom renovation which is now complete and I am so happy to be back in my studio creating beautiful things! A couple of weeks ago my girlfriend and I, along with a bunch of ladies from our team here in Calgary, traveled to Vancouver, BC for OnStage 2019. This was my girlfriend's first experience with OnStage and she absolutely loved it. Well, come on, we both had a blast! What's not to like about getting the new annual catalogue in hand, swapping with other like minded creative souls, playing with new product, prize patrols, and seeing such wonderful presentations! It was a full day of complete FUN! Here are some of my pictures...

We arrived in Vancouver on Friday afternoon and was excited to see this backdrop as well as the check in tables in the lobby of the hotel.
Friday evening we went for a seafood dinner. Being an Alberta girl, how could I not take advantage of fresh seafood off the west coast of Canada! This restaurant is right on the water and the food is amazing! I had been here about 9 years ago with my boyfriend at the time (now husband) and had the mussels. To my excitement, they still had them on the menu and they were just as good as I remembered. Good thing we had to walk back to the hotel because we were stuffed.
Saturday morning, we were up and downstairs lined up to register at 7:30 in the morning!
New catalog in hand!
My girlfriend and I hanging out and having fun swapping beautiful projects with everyone!
Below are the make-and-takes that we made...
Group photo of the team we are a part of, from Calgary! I am proud to be a part of Rose Coleman's team, the Ink-Cited Canadians! Such a great group of ladies. There were 12 of us that traveled from Calgary.
Rose, our team leader is so sweet. She made each of us this cute purse out of the Full Wide Stamp Case and included some treats inside. How thoughtful is that!
What a great weekend. Looking forward to the next one!
